Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

0

It is a pleasure and honor to have the opportunity to share with you a few thoughts on the Klemmer Blog. As most of you know, I am a Personal Mastery Facilitator and facilitate an awareness workshop. This class allows you the opportunity to discover what self-limiting beliefs hold you back from creating the extraordinary life of your dreams.

comfort-zoneIn the seminars that I facilitate, I often ask the question, “Do you know something, or do you know about it?” In other words do you know it, or do you know about it? Think for a moment what that question is asking and how it applies to you.

I’m going to suggest that women know childbirth and men know about it. Knowing about something is useful only for storing intellectual information in your brain to use as reference when you want to look smart.

As a colleague of mine has said, “Awareness without action is just awareness.” In other words, just knowing about something is not enough. You must take action and have an experience of this learning for it to create a new belief that drives you forward towards your goals and dreams!

I’m going to suggest that many people ARE eager, excited, pumped up and ready to go after their dreams, but the moment they step outside of their comfort zone, they step into no-mans land and that can be very scary and unfamiliar. When obstacles and challenges come up, most people stop and go back to what’s comfortable. The dream then fades.

In Brian Klemmer’s book, Eating the Elephant One Bite at a Time – 52 Weekly Lessons in Leadership, Brian offers 2 powerful action steps per lesson to support you in the sustained change you are looking for. By getting outside ones comfort zone and creating a new experience to establish a new belief will lead to huge transformations!

Go For It!
